audiovisual artistcoach & director
Samira is...Samira Hmouda, born in 1988 in Brussels, is an artist, curator, and cultural manager with a passion for autodidactic trajectories. She stimulates film and performing arts by spotlighting authors who distinguish themselves through their freedom of expression, tone, and form. Since 2012, Samira has been the founder and artistic director of the festival, providing young, self-taught filmmakers a platform to create, reflect on, and disseminate their work. Her work focuses on a hungry audience that has no place in mainstream circuits, offering a perspective of decolonial creation. It is work that questions dominant narratives and encourages artists to create new visual and artistic forms from their environment.
